Jurassic IV is dead, all hail Jurassic World. The fourth movie in the huge dinosaur franchise gets a completely new name and a date set for its release.
According to Collider, Universal has announced that Jurassic Park IV will now be known as Jurassic World, and will be out in the cinemas on June 12th 2015. That summer is going to be jam-packed full of blockbusters, with Avengers: Age of Ultron, Batman vs. Superman, Star Wars VII and Bond 24 all coming out too.
Not much is known about the plot of Jurassic World as yet, other than it will be set on the original island – Isla Nublar. Apparently, John Hammond’s dream of a dinosaur theme park is now realised and a huge hit. Underwater dinosaurs are also a hit amongst the visitors; we may even see one in a large tank jumping out of the water to eat a suspended great white shark in front of a paying audience (this is a legit rumour). All is going well, until a new dinosaur (one that we have never seen in a Jurassic Park) breaks out and all hell breaks loose.
Jurassic World will be directed by Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) with a screenplay and story by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of The Planet of the Apes).
We cannot wait for this instalment. Let’s hope it’s more Jurassic Park than The Lost World or the third film.
