Lex Luthor has finally been cast of the Batman vs. Superman movie. Drum roll please……………….Jesse Eisenberg will play Superman’s arch nemesis.
In what has been the most surprising casting news for a while, Jesse Eisenberg has been cast as Lex Luthor in Batman vs. Superman. Eisenberg, who is known for his roles in The Social Network, Zombieland and Now You See Us, will play the role made famous in the 70’s and 80’s by the great Gene Hackman. 
Now, I’m not sure about you, but we here at Screen Critix are a little disappointed, as Eisenberg doesn’t have great range (in our opinion) and every character he has portrayed in the past has been very similar.
One plus point for the casting is that Luthor is an arrogant character and Eisenberg has played that in every role to date.
Joaquin Phoenix was rumoured to be up for the role, but this hasn’t come to fruition unfortunately. That casting would have been fantastic.
In other news, Jeremy Irons has been cast as Alfred Pennyworth – Bruce Wayne’s butler.
