According to both Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller, a Deadpool movie is ready and just awaiting the greenlight to start production.
A movie based on Marvel character Deadpool has been rumoured for quite some time now, but after hearing nothing of the project for a couple of years, both Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller have stated that the movie is slowly gaining progress.
“We will never give up,” Miller told ClevverMovies. “Deadpool is still alive and we’re just waiting for the studio to embrace what a fucking awesome film this would be. Ryan is ready, I am ready. And the fans are more than ready. We just need that elusive green light.”
Of course, Ryan Reynolds portrayed Deadpool in Wolverine: X-Men Origins. In that film they made a mockery of the character. The ‘Merc with a Mouth’ actually had it sewn up in the film and had none of his characteristics that has made him a fan favourite.
Deadpool is known to have conversations with himself, burst into song during fights and crack jokes. If they can add these qualities into the movie version, fans will be happy.
