The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  have to locate all the pieces to a mysterious Asgardian weapon in this Thor: The Dark World tie-in. Review of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode 8 right here.

May contain spoilers of the episode and of Thor: The Dark World.

We start this episode in Greenwich, England as the team are cleaning up after the huge fight in the movie Thor: The Dark World. Coulson is informing Skye that Norse mythology is derived from Asgardians and they were seen as gods due to the human race not understanding aliens at the time.

One of the better episodes of the series to date.

Meanwhile in Norway, a couple are in a nature reserve when they decide to cut down a specific tree. Inside the bark, they find a metal pole covered in markings – of which gives them uncontrollable rage and power. s.h.i.e.l.d.

The team then, thanks to help from a college professor in Seville, realise that the piece is only one of three that makes up the legendary Bezerker Staff from Asgard.

It’s then down to the team to locate the other pieces as well as capturing one the couple found. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode 8 does well to make us aware that the series is still based in the Marvel universe without showing us any of the actual super heroes. Yes, they are mentioned often, but excuses are made for them not featuring, e.g. Thor was unobtainable at the time and, if he does have a phone, they don’t know his number.

Overall Thoughts:

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode 8 features some great scenes and we liked the story being (sort of) tied in with the latest Thor film. One of the better episodes of the series to date.
